The IMEC-Steering Committee
General
All members of the Steering Committee are expected to contribute to the work of IMEC at their best as laid down in the Guidelines for the IMEC-Steering Committee, Guidelines for Organising an IMEC" and other relevant IMEC ad hoc documents.
Members of the Steering Group fulfil their duties entirely voluntarily and no pay or reimbursements can be expected.Temporary Member of the Steering Committee
S/he is appointed by the host institution of the next IMEC and is the liaison person between the host institution and the Steering Committee. S/he will be member of the Steering Committee from the day of appointment until one calendar month after the final day of a corresponding IMEC.

Honorary Member of IMLA
He bears the overall responsibility of the work of IMEC as laid down in IMEC´s documentation especially in the "Guidelines for the Steering Committee of the IMLA - IMEC", the "Guidelines for Organising an IMEC" and other IMEC ad hoc documents. He establishes and maintains official contacts to the corresponding host institution of an IMEC in preparation of the same and is answerable for the work of IMEC towards the IMLA Committee. Between the IMECs he ensures communication among the members of the Steering Committee.
Clive Cole - - World Maritime University - Malmo / Sweden
As the Vice Chairman of IMEC he deputises the Chairman of IMEC when asked by the latter or when the latter is prevented from exercising his function for any reason.
He also co-ordinates IMEC activities, especially workshops to be held, with the host organiser and prepares and distributes a report on each conference.
Catherine Logie - - Marlins Language Training / UK
She advises on methodology and performance of workshops, discussion groups, poster presentations, material demonstrations, panel sessions and other interactive contributions at IMECs. She evaluates contributions submitted for IMECs as guidance for the Papers and Activities Committee regarding multi-cultural issues.
Peter C. van Kluijven - Maritime University of Applied Sciences

He is responsible for managing and updating the IMEC Website as well as for producing and sending the IMEC Newsletters.
Prof. Dr. Boris Pritchard, Faculty of Maritime Studies, University
of Rijeka -Croatia
Chairman of the IMEC Papers and Activities Committee. He is responsible to collect the papers submitted for presentation at the corresponding IMEC, to distribute them among the members of the Papers Committee inviting their evaluation whether a paper should be presented, included in the proceedings or rejected and finally prepares a corresponding list for the host organiser. He is also responsible for preparing, managing and updating an IMEC Maritime English Databank and makes it available to members on request. He is also responsible for recording and distributing Steering Group meeting minutes.
